Frequently Asked Questions.

Do I need to be in crisis to start therapy?

No. Many people come to therapy not because they're in crisis, but because they want greater clarity, support or a deeper understanding of themselves. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, struggling with self-esteem, navigating a life change, or simply looking for a space where you can talk openly without judgement.

What if I don't know what to say?

That's completely okay. Many people feel nervous before their first session or worry they won't know where to begin. There's no right or wrong way to come to therapy—we'll start wherever feels comfortable for you, at a pace that feels manageable.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss in therapy is confidential. There are a small number of legal and ethical exceptions where I may need to share information if there are serious concerns about your safety or someone else's. We'll go through confidentiality together during our first session so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I offer therapy both online and in person from my practice in Glasgow's West End, giving you the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

What if I can't afford the full fee?

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces through a sliding scale because I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible. If cost is a concern, please get in touch and we can talk about this together.

How often will we meet?

Most people choose to meet weekly, although fortnightly sessions are also available. We'll discuss what feels best for you.

How long is each session?

Sessions are  50 minute or 75 minute appointments, depending on the type of support you're looking for.

How many sessions will I need?

There isn't a set number. Some people come for a short period to work through a specific issue, while others choose longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns and personal growth. We'll regularly review how the work is feeling together.

What happens in the first session?

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other. We'll explore what has brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and answer any questions you have about the process. There's no expectation to share everything straight away—we'll move at a pace that feels right for you.

Do I have to do yoga or body-based work?

No. Talking therapy is always at the heart of our work together. If appropriate, I may offer gentle body-based practices such as grounding, breath awareness or mindfulness, but these are always optional and guided by your preferences. You don't need any experience of yoga, and we'll only use approaches that feel comfortable for you.
