Machair (Mah-kkur) is a word used to describe a unique coastal landscape found in the Scottish Highlands and islands. These fertile, sandy plains sit alongside the sea and are shaped over time by wind, water, and time.  Machair Therapeutics reflects the process of healing — slow, resilient, and deeply connected to the environment we live in.

Therapy can be thought of like the machair—a place where growth becomes possible, even after periods of difficulty or change. Together, we create the conditions for insight, healing, and movement forward, at a pace that feels steady and manageable for you. My approach is collaborative and flexible, shaped around your individual needs.

This work involves gently exploring how your experiences, relationships, and environment have influenced your sense of self.

Machair Therapeutics is rooted in the Person-Centred approach of Carl Rogers, based on empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard. When someone feels truly listened to and accepted, change often emerges in its own time.

Within a safe and non-judgemental space, you can begin to reconnect with yourself and build a deeper sense of trust and stability.

Alongside my therapy training, I am also a trained yoga teacher, and these two practices deeply inform one another. Yoga has taught me the importance of listening to the body, working with the nervous system, and understanding healing as something that happens over time, with patience and love.
